About the role

The College Of Information Studies At The University Of Maryland, College Park (iSchool) invites applications for an open rank tenured or tenure track faculty position in the area of data visualization and visual analytics.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research in data visualization and visual analytics
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in data visualization and related fields
• Develop and maintain a strong research program
• Engage in professional service to the academic community

Requirements

• A PhD in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related field
• Proven record of research excellence in data visualization and visual analytics
• Strong teaching skills and ability to mentor students
• Experience with teaching and research in human-computer interaction for visual data representations is preferred

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration

Skills

• Proficiency in data visualization tools and techniques
• Experience with visual analytics methodologies
• Knowledge of ubiquitous, immersive, and situated analytics
