About the role
Design and facilitate the entire open-innovation process for sport-related challenges by engaging start-ups, academia, the public sector, NGOs, and private companies.
Key activities include defining the challenge, selecting and inviting the ecosystem to be mobilized, running ideation workshops, framing and selecting experiments, supporting the test phase, and conducting debriefing and learning sessions.
Responsibilities
- Define and refine innovation challenges in sport.
- Identify, invite, and mobilize diverse stakeholders (start-ups, academia, public sector, NGOs, private companies).
- Facilitate ideation workshops and collaborative sessions.
- Select and frame experiments for testing innovative solutions.
- Support teams during the test and implementation phase.
- Conduct debriefing sessions and capture learnings.
Projects and Themes
Seven distinct themes were supported over more than two years, including:
- Return to competition following concussion.
- Sports events and human rights.
- Leadership in sport.
- Prevention of violence in sport.
- Youth sports safety.
Results
- Innovative solutions identified and tested through the engagement of diversified ecosystems.
- Multidisciplinary approach enabling open innovation on high-impact societal and human issues.
- Project duration of 2.5 years, with multiple parallel innovation cycles of 6–8 months per theme.
