About the Role

Innovation AI Developer II positions are responsible for independently designing, developing, and deploying AI-powered software solutions that address customer use cases in industrial production environments. This role bridges software engineering and AI/ML, building robust applications that integrate computer vision, NLP, and predictive analytics to drive operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop end-to-end AI-powered software applications for industrial use cases.
  • Build and deploy AI models to edge devices, embedded systems, and offline environments.
  • Own the full software development lifecycle: architecture, implementation, testing, and deployment.
  • Develop internal AI agents and automation tools to improve operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Optimize model performance for production: inference latency, memory footprint, and accuracy.
  • Set up and maintain customer demonstrations using IPCs, HMIs, cameras, sensors, and PLCs.
  • Mentor junior developers through code reviews and technical guidance.
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging AI technologies and OOB tools for team productivity.
  • Lead POC development and deliver demos to customers and stakeholders.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment and an innovation lab setting. Employees set up customer demos using IPCs, HMIs, cameras, sensors, and edge devices. May work in customer facilities or warehouse/production environments to deploy solutions.

Physical Demands

While performing duties, the employee communicates with co-workers, customers, and stakeholders. Must remain stationary 70% of the time. May lift equipment up to 25 lbs when setting up demonstrations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in AI development or software engineering with demonstrated project ownership.

Skills

Software Engineering

  • Proficient in Python; experience with C++, Java, Go, or Rust.
  • Strong fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, design patterns, clean code.
  • Experience with API development (FastAPI, Flask), Git, CI/CD, Docker.

AI/ML Development

  • Deep expertise in PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Strong computer vision and/or NLP understanding.
  • Experience with LLMs, VLMs, and agentic AI frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph).

Edge & Embedded

  • Experience deploying edge devices (NVIDIA Jetson, industrial IPCs).
  • Model optimization: quantization, pruning, ONNX/TensorRT.

AI Tools

  • Proficient with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Cursor).
  • Experience building internal automation agents.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in warehouse, logistics, or industrial automation.
  • Track record of shipping production AI systems.
