About the role

Robert Bosch is hosting an in-person hiring event for Production Technicians on August 22, 2026, at the Robert Bosch Charleston plant.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, process, and repair or replace defective parts, such as gears, clutches, bushings, shafts, bearings, solenoids, valves, pumps, and direction controls (*essential function as defined by ADA).
• Monitor operations, reduce scrap and rework rates, audit parts, and perform adjustments to maintain proper setup and ensure quality production.
• Analyze equipment/machine problems, perform repairs, or initiate corrective actions if beyond scope of experience.
• Demonstrate self-initiative, promote associates’ suggestions, and utilize CIP (Continuous Improvement Process) concepts to improve quality and overall equipment effectiveness.
• Initiate corrective actions if data shows “out of control” conditions.
• Instruct associates in the proper use and care of machines, tools, and measuring instruments.
• Optimize processes and reduce setup time and general downtimes via CIP activities; escalate as required.
• Control parts flow and monitor production quantities.
• Follow plant safety and environmental policies; keep work areas clean and orderly.
• Actively seek additional opportunities to gain knowledge or cross-train.
• Maintain an organized workspace.
• Repair or replace defective machine components, such as solenoids, valves, and cylinders.
• Perform line and machine changeovers.
• Achieve expected production quantities to ensure customer goals are obtained.
• Complete assigned technical training to support personal growth and development.
• Collaborate with Operators, Manufacturing Technicians, Engineers, and area personnel.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum two years of experience in manufacturing assembly or machining.
• Basic knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, print-reading, and mechanics.
• Demonstrated mechanical proficiency, leadership ability, and teamwork.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with management and other personnel.
• Ability to function in a noisy and fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel).
• Willingness to work on alternate shifts and adapt to changes.
• Must be at least 18 years or older.

Qualified candidates often have experience in roles such as: Maintenance Technician, Manufacturing Technician, Setup Technician, Equipment Technician, or similar positions.

Pay

Starting hourly rate for this position is $30.53 - $34.18 based on experience and shift. As a Bosch employee, you can achieve an hourly rate up to $40.50 through skills development and strong contributions.
