Onsite Power Generation Outage Manager

Lead critical outage operations at a state-of-the-art 618 MW Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) power generation facility in Edwardsport, Indiana. This high-impact leadership role coordinates complex outage activities across maintenance, construction, capital projects, and contractor workforces.

Responsibilities

• Lead outage planning, scheduling, execution, and closeout activities
• Develop and maintain detailed outage schedules using Primavera P6
• Coordinate multiple contractors, maintenance teams, engineers, and operations personnel
• Identify schedule risks, conflicts, and execution barriers while developing mitigation strategies
• Monitor outage progress and critical path activities
• Support labor, equipment, material, and resource planning
• Manage contractor logistics and work sequencing
• Facilitate outage planning meetings and daily coordination meetings
• Ensure safe execution of maintenance, capital, and construction projects
• Provide regular updates to plant leadership and key stakeholders
• Capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

• Proven experience managing power plant outages, turnarounds, or shutdowns
• Experience in utility power generation environments
• Previous work in power block outage management
• Hands-on experience with Primavera P6 scheduling software
• Experience coordinating multiple contractors and simultaneous work streams
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to identify risks, solve problems, and maintain schedule performance
• Ability to work on-site and support extended outage schedules

Qualifications

• Construction management experience within power generation or heavy industrial facilities
• Experience supporting major maintenance and capital project execution
• Familiarity with combined-cycle, fossil generation, refinery, petrochemical, or industrial turnaround environments
• Experience working in highly regulated and safety-focused operations

Pay

$70.00 - $70.00/hr

Schedule

• Planning Phase: Typically 40-50 hours per week
• Active Outage Execution: Approximately 60-70 hours per week
• Extended hours required to support critical outage activities and plant objectives

This is a contract, fully onsite position based in Edwardsport, IN.
