Onsite Lab Support Clerk- Floater

About the role

This position, Hospital Reference Test Clerk, is responsible for performing clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment located onsite with one of our client offices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
• Communicate effectively with client office staff
• Research, troubleshoot, and resolve customer and specimen problems
• Meet department activity and production goals
• Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Accurately identify and label specimens
• Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
• Scrub requisitions to ensure samples are prepared and missing items are updated
• Perform spinning, freezing, splitting, and other special services as needed based on client requirements

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent
• Comfortable handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Experience working in a team environment
• Strong data entry and organizational skills
• High level of attention to detail
• Proficient in MS Office
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
• At least 21 years old
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (subject to applicable law, proof of vaccination or qualification for medical/religious accommodations required)

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year or more of medical or patient-facing healthcare experience

Schedule

• Full-time position, 40 hours per week
• Monday – Friday, hours vary (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM or 5:00 PM – 1:00 AM shifts)
• Primarily scheduled for Western Suburbs locations (Rockford, IL; Sterling, IL; Freeport, IL; Janesville, WI; Itasca, IL; other locations as needed)

Pay

• Pay Range: $17.75 – $22.50 per hour
• Eligible for 2nd Shift differential
