About the role
The Onsite Consultant provides professional and responsive service to onsite customers in various environments including production, mailroom, shipping, and retail services. This role requires frequent interaction with customers of all levels and involves performing a wide range of tasks including operating computers and equipment, managing projects, and communicating effectively.
Responsibilities
- Follows FedEx Office standard operating procedures and adheres to legal, HR, safety, and security policies and procedures
- Assists other team members in performing onsite functions and follows instructions of supervisors
- Maintains the working premises neat and free from clutter, ensuring safety and efficiency
- Provides customer service, resolves issues, and escalates concerns to supervisors
- Performs multiple tasks simultaneously, assists in training onsite team members, and ensures confidentiality of customer data
- Orders supplies and maintains inventory controls
- Collaborates with office and print locations to produce customer work and deliver on customer needs
- Produces complex orders, prioritizes production, performs quality checks, coordinates pick-ups and deliveries, and manages equipment set-up, operation, and maintenance
- Operates and maintains an automatic mail processing machine, sorts and prepares packages, and utilizes a tracking system
- Sorts and prepares packages and mail for pickup or delivery, employs investigative research for packages with unknown recipients
- Demonstrates consultative behaviors, recommends appropriate FedEx Office products and services, and manages bid follow-up and complex orders
- Takes complex customer orders, provides pricing information, and operates the Point-of-Sale terminal to process financial transactions
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent education
- 1+ year of specialized experience preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with computer systems and ability to learn new software applications quickly
- Meets FedEx Office employment qualifications and transfer requirements as outlined in the Team Member Handbook
Qualifications
- Ability to stand during entire shift, including meal and rest periods
- Ability to move and lift up to 55 pounds
- Ability to bend, twist at the waist and knees, and communicate effectively
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and under substantial pressure
- Ability to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and report regularly to work
Preferred Qualifications
- Works with management to reduce company costs/wastes and optimize profitability in areas of responsibility
- Applies Quality concepts presented at training during daily activities
- Supports FedEx Office Quality initiatives
