Onshore Project Manager (19424)

About the role

The Onshore Project Manager oversees the overall management and successful execution of assigned onshore projects from initiation through completion. This includes project planning, scheduling, budgeting, staffing, subcontractor performance, and coordination of multidisciplinary activities to ensure safe, efficient, on-time, and on-budget delivery while meeting project specifications, quality standards, and HSEQ requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute assigned onshore project(s), including overall responsibility for project resources.
• Develop and issue project execution plans for every project.
• Oversee project schedule and budget, including management reporting.
• Prepare project status reports addressing schedule, budget, staffing, safety, and open issues.
• Monitor subcontractor quality, cost, and schedule performance.
• Lead Project Engineers in reviewing project specifications, standards, drawings, and coordinating with vendors and clients.
• Coordinate engineering site visits and responses to contractor inquiries.
• Monitor delivery and review of documents, drawings, and submittals.
• Attend job site meetings with contractors, consultants, and clients to review and monitor progress.
• Perform initial review of vendor and subcontractor payment applications, validating progress against approved schedule of values.
• Evaluate, negotiate, and recommend proposed change directives and change orders.
• Oversee the project HSEQ program and ensure compliance with procedures.

Requirements

• BSc, MSc, or equivalent in process, mechanical, civil, electrical, or instrument engineering.
• PMP or MPM Certification preferred.
• NCEES P.E. License preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in the onshore Oil & Gas or Energy industry.
• 5+ years of experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience managing multiple individual projects of $1M or greater.
• Experience managing a team of project discipline engineers.
• Technical knowledge of onshore project engineering, design, and construction, particularly with compressor, pipeline, and facilities experience.
• Understanding of project scheduling, estimating, and HSEQ programs.
• Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal/written communication abilities.

Skills

• Strong proficiency in MS Project; experience with Microsoft Visio preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Working Conditions

• Primarily office-based with occasional travel to off-site locations, including plants or facilities.
• Field duties may require outdoor work in varying temperatures and noise levels.
• May require working in plant or shop areas around production machinery.
• Must tolerate climate changes and potential multi-site visits in a single day.
• Periodic out-of-town travel may be required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to ten (10) pounds.
• Effective communication skills, including clear speech and hearing.
• Ability to sit for extended periods.
• Sufficient visual acuity for document review, analysis, and investigations.
• Manual dexterity for routine office tasks such as typing and using equipment.
• Mobility to perform office duties and travel to off-site locations.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) when visiting operational or field locations.
