Online Tutor (Evenings, Part-Time)

About the role

Littera Education partners with K‑12 schools and districts nationwide to deliver high‑impact, customized tutoring in Reading, Math, and English Language Acquisition. The model is built around the belief that every student who needs individualized support should have access to it regardless of subject, schedule, or learning need. Districts set achievement goals and trust tutors to help move the needle on outcomes that matter most.

Responsibilities

• Show up consistently for live, scheduled tutoring sessions.
• Connect with students and build genuine relationships.
• Deliver instructional support using the provided curriculum and platform.
• Communicate effectively with students using video, audio, screenshare, whiteboard, and chat.
• Read and interpret on‑screen lesson materials in real time.
• Pass a required background check (Littera covers the cost).

Requirements

• U.S.-based applicant; must reside and work in one of Littera’s eligible states.
• Consistent, committed weekly schedule; availability typically 5:00‑8:00 PM EST, with hours varying week to week based on enrollment.
• Experience or strong knowledge in Reading, Math, Algebra, or ESL/ELL.
• Ability to work with diverse learners, adapting approach and offering encouragement.
• Comfortable using virtual tools: video, audio, screenshare, whiteboard, chat.
• Laptop or desktop computer (Chrome recommended) and reliable high‑speed internet.
• Quiet workspace with an educational or neutral background.

Benefits

• Earn up to $22.50 per hour ($18 base pay × 1.25 paid administrative time per tutored hour), paid bi‑weekly as a W‑2 employee.
• Work fully remote, Monday–Friday.
• No lesson planning — curriculum is provided.
• Small tutor groups of 1–3 students, allowing real relationships.
• Littera pays for background check and fingerprinting.
• All training is paid; you start earning from day one.

Schedule

• Part‑time, up to 25 hours per week.
• Core availability window: 5:00‑8:00 PM EST, Monday–Friday.
• Hours fluctuate week to week based on student enrollment and client needs; not guaranteed.
• Supplemental income opportunity.
