Online & In-Person Music Tutors

About the role

Teach music lessons online and, where agreed, in person. This role supports Educify’s mission to provide high-quality, accessible music education to students of all ages and skill levels.

Responsibilities

• Teach your areas of expertise, including musical instruments, voice, music theory, technique, performance, sight-reading, ear training, and exam preparation.
• Assess each student's goals, experience, learning style, and skill level.
• Prepare structured lesson plans and age-appropriate learning materials.
• Provide constructive feedback, track progress, and adjust instruction as needed.
• Help students build confidence, musicianship, creativity, and consistent practice habits.
• Maintain accurate availability and communicate promptly about lessons, scheduling, and student progress.
• Create a welcoming, inclusive, and professional learning environment.
• Follow Educify's tutoring, safeguarding, privacy, and professional-conduct requirements.

Requirements

• ARCT designation or an equivalent advanced music qualification, certification, diploma, or demonstrated professional level of expertise.
• Advanced proficiency in at least one instrument, voice, or music-theory discipline.
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to explain musical concepts clearly to learners of different ages and skill levels.
• Reliable internet connection, computer or tablet, camera, microphone, and a suitable environment for virtual lessons.
• Dependability, patience, professionalism, and a student-centered teaching approach.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous private, classroom, studio, or online music-teaching experience.
• Experience preparing students for conservatory examinations, auditions, recitals, competitions, or academic music programs.
• Experience working with children, teenagers, adults, or learners with different educational needs.
• Additional expertise across multiple instruments, voice, theory, composition, or music technology.

Pay

$20–$40 per hour, depending on qualifications, experience, subject area, lesson format, and assignment.

Schedule

Part-time, flexible scheduling based on tutor availability and student demand.
