Online Grocery Pick-Up Clerk

About the role

Select and gather products for customers' on-line orders in the most efficient manner with attention to freshness and quality. Assemble orders, process coupons and payment, and deliver and load orders to cars when customers arrive for pick‑up. Provide a positive customer service experience that encourages repeat online shopping and demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Select and gather products for online orders efficiently, focusing on freshness and quality.
• Assemble customers' online orders, process coupons and payment.
• Deliver and load orders to customers' cars at pick‑up.
• Scan and bag orders on the go following bagging standards.
• Communicate substitutions or exceptions to customers at pick‑up.
• Meet/exceed customer expectations for ease of shopping, variety, freshness, and cleanliness.
• Adhere to local, state, federal laws, food safety procedures, and company guidelines.
• Receive orders from Order Selector, store products in optimal temperature zones.
• Read and follow directions in the note section.
• Ensure quality and freshness of all items chosen.
• Communicate with customers via portable phone professionally and timely.
• Retrieve each customer's order from staging locations, verify accuracy, load into cars.
• Process orders through the point‑of‑sale (POS) system.
• Follow policies to determine appropriate substitutions for out‑of‑stock items.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of staging areas and equipment.
• Report pricing, scanning, item location discrepancies, and invalid temperature types to the e‑Commerce supervisor.
• Inspect equipment and notify supervisor of items needing repair.
• Perform required opening and closing procedures.
• Assist in training new e‑Commerce team members.
• Meet/exceed productivity standards.
• Work cooperatively in a high‑paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflict in a reasonable, non‑confrontational, cooperative manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
• Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.

Qualifications

• Ability to work without supervision.
• Ability to read shelf tags.
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Desired previous experience as a personal shopper, in a production‑oriented or warehouse environment, stocking shelves, or as a cashier.
