Online Grocery Pick-Up Clerk

About the role

Select and gather products for customers' online orders with attention to freshness and quality. Assemble orders, process coupons and payment, and deliver and load orders to customers' cars upon arrival. Provide a positive customer service experience to encourage repeat online shopping. Responsibilities

• Select and gather products for customers' online orders efficiently while maintaining freshness and quality.
• Initiate and complete the selection process for customers' online orders.
• Assemble customers' online orders and process coupons and payment.
• Deliver and load orders into customers' cars when they arrive for pickup.
• Scan and bag orders on the go while following all bagging standards.
• Communicate any substitutions or exceptions to the customer's order at the time of pickup.
• Meet or exceed customer expectations for ease of shopping, variety, freshness, and cleanliness.
• Adhere to local, state, and federal laws, food safety procedures, and company guidelines.
• Receive customers' orders from the Order Selector and store products in optimal temperature zones.
• Read and follow directions provided in the note section.
• Ensure quality and freshness of all items chosen.
• Communicate with customers via a portable phone and respond to calls professionally and promptly.
• Retrieve each customer's order from all staging locations and ensure order accuracy.
• Process orders through the point of sale (POS) system.
• Follow policies and procedures to determine appropriate substitutions in the event of an out-of-stock item.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of staging areas and equipment.
• Report pricing, scanning, and item location discrepancies and invalid temperature types to the store e-Commerce supervisor.
• Inspect equipment and notify the store Pick-Up supervisor or management of items in need of repair.
• Perform required opening and closing procedures.
• Assist in training new e-Commerce team members.
• Meet or exceed productivity standards.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
• Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.

Qualifications

• Ability to work without supervision.
• Ability to read shelf tags.
• Basic math skills (e.g., counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Experience

• Experience as a personal shopper.
• Experience in a production-oriented or warehouse environment.
• Experience stocking shelves or working as a cashier.
