Online Grocery Pick-Up Clerk

About the Role

Select and gather products for customers' online orders efficiently, ensuring attention to freshness and quality. Assemble orders, process coupons and payment, and deliver and load orders to customers' cars during pick-up. Provide a positive customer service experience to encourage repeat online shopping while demonstrating the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Select and gather products for customers' online orders in the most efficient manner, prioritizing freshness and quality.
• Initiate and complete the selection process for online orders, scanning and bagging items on the go while adhering to all bagging standards.
• Assemble customers' online orders, process coupons and payment, and deliver and load orders to cars during pick-up.
• Communicate any substitutions or exceptions to the customer’s order at the time of pick-up.
• Meet or exceed customer expectations for ease of shopping, variety, freshness, and cleanliness.
• Adhere to local, state, and federal laws, food safety procedures, and company guidelines.
• Receive orders from the Order Selector, store products in optimal temperature zones, and follow directions in the note section.
• Ensure quality and freshness of all items chosen and communicate with customers via a portable phone in a professional and timely manner.
• Retrieve orders from staging locations, verify order accuracy, and load orders into customers' cars.
• Process orders through the point-of-sale (POS) system and follow policies for appropriate substitutions in case of out-of-stock items.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of staging areas and equipment.
• Report pricing, scanning, and item location discrepancies, as well as invalid temperature types, to the store e-Commerce supervisor.
• Inspect equipment and notify the Pick-Up supervisor or store management of needed repairs.
• Perform required opening and closing procedures and assist in training new e-Commerce team members.
• Meet or exceed productivity standards and work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
• Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.

Qualifications

• Ability to work without supervision.
• Ability to read shelf tags.
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Desired Experience

• Experience as a personal shopper or in a production-oriented or warehouse environment.
• Experience stocking shelves or working as a cashier.
