Online Grocery Pick-Up Clerk

About the role

Select and gather products for customers' online orders in the most efficient manner with attention to freshness and quality. Assemble customers' online orders, process coupons and payment, and deliver and load orders to cars when customers arrive at the store for pick-up. Provide a positive customer service experience that makes customers want to return to online shopping. Responsibilities

• Select and gather products for customers' online orders efficiently, ensuring freshness and quality.
• Initiate and complete the selection process for customers' online orders.
• Assemble customers' online orders, process coupons and payment, and deliver/load orders to cars.
• Scan and bag orders on the go while following all bagging standards.
• Communicate any substitutions or exceptions to the customer's order at the time of pick-up.
• Meet or exceed customer expectations for ease of shopping, variety, freshness, and cleanliness.
• Adhere to local, state, and federal laws, food safety procedures, and company guidelines.
• Receive customers' orders and store products in optimal temperature zones.
• Read and follow directions given in the note section to ensure quality and freshness of all items chosen.
• Communicate with customers via a portable phone and respond to calls professionally and timely.
• Retrieve each customer's order from all staging locations, ensure order accuracy, and load orders into customers' cars.
• Provide a positive customer service experience to encourage repeat online shopping.
• Process orders through the point of sale (POS) system.
• Follow policies and procedures to determine appropriate substitutions in the event of an out-of-stock item.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of staging areas and equipment.
• Report pricing, scanning, and item location discrepancies, as well as invalid temperature types, to the store e-Commerce supervisor.
• Inspect equipment and notify store management of items in need of repair.
• Perform required opening and closing procedures.
• Assist in training new e-Commerce team members.
• Meet or exceed productivity standards.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
• Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

• Ability to work without supervision.
• Ability to read shelf tags.
• Basic math skills (e.g., counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Qualifications

Desired previous experience includes any role as a personal shopper, in a production-oriented or warehouse environment, stocking shelves, or as a cashier.
