Online Grocery Pick-Up Clerk

About the role

As an In-Store Grocery Shopper and Online Grocery Pick-Up Clerk, you will select and gather products for customers' online orders efficiently, ensuring freshness and quality. You will assemble orders, process coupons and payments, and deliver orders to customers' cars during pick-up. Your role is key to providing a positive customer service experience that encourages repeat online shopping.

Responsibilities

• Select and gather products for customers' online orders with attention to freshness and quality.
• Assemble customers' online orders, process coupons and payment, and load orders into cars at pick-up.
• Scan and bag orders on the go while following all bagging standards.
• Communicate substitutions or exceptions to customers at pick-up via portable phone.
• Retrieve orders from staging locations, ensure order accuracy, and load into customers' cars.
• Process orders through the point-of-sale (POS) system and determine appropriate substitutions for out-of-stock items.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of staging areas and equipment.
• Report pricing, scanning, item location discrepancies, and invalid temperature types to the supervisor.
• Inspect equipment and notify management of needed repairs.
• Perform opening and closing procedures and assist in training new team members.
• Adhere to local, state, and federal laws, food safety procedures, and company guidelines.
• Meet or exceed productivity standards and customer expectations for ease of shopping, variety, freshness, and cleanliness.
• Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.

Requirements

• Ability to work without supervision.
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to read shelf tags and follow directions in the note section of orders.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve customer and business issues.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

• Desired: Experience as a personal shopper, in a production-oriented or warehouse environment, stocking shelves, or as a cashier.
