Online Grocery Pick-Up Clerk

About the role

As an In-Store Grocery Shopper and Online Grocery Pick-Up Clerk, you will select and gather products for customers' online orders efficiently, ensuring freshness and quality. You will assemble orders, process coupons and payments, and deliver orders to customers' cars during pick-up. Your role is key to providing a positive customer service experience that encourages repeat online shopping.

Responsibilities

• Select and gather products for customers' online orders with attention to freshness and quality.
• Initiate and complete the selection process for online orders.
• Assemble customers' orders, process coupons and payments, and load orders into cars during pick-up.
• Scan and bag orders on the go while adhering to all bagging standards.
• Communicate substitutions or exceptions to customers at the time of pick-up.
• Meet or exceed customer expectations for ease of shopping, variety, freshness, and cleanliness.
• Adhere to local, state, and federal laws, food safety procedures, and company guidelines.
• Receive and store products in optimal temperature zones.
• Read and follow directions in the note section of orders.
• Ensure quality and freshness of all items chosen.
• Communicate with customers via portable phone in a professional and timely manner.
• Retrieve orders from staging locations, verify accuracy, and load them into customers' cars.
• Process orders through the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Follow policies for appropriate substitutions in case of out-of-stock items.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of staging areas and equipment.
• Report pricing, scanning, item location discrepancies, and invalid temperature types to the supervisor.
• Inspect equipment and notify management of repair needs.
• Perform required opening and closing procedures.
• Assist in training new e-Commerce team members.
• Meet or exceed productivity standards.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflict in a reasonable, non-confrontational, and cooperative manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve customer and business issues.

Requirements

• Ability to work without supervision.
• Ability to read shelf tags.
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Qualifications

• Any experience as a personal shopper, in a production-oriented or warehouse environment, stocking shelves, or as a cashier is a plus.
