One-Year Research Fellowships
The Yale School of Medicine encourages students to consider dedicating a flex year to research. This fully-funded one-year research fellowship affords students the opportunity to do a full year of research while receiving a stipend.
- Application Deadline: April 6, 2026, at 8 am.
- Requirements:
- Participate full-time in the fellowship (i.e. ~40 hours per week) from July 1st – June 30th of the academic year in which they are enrolled.
- Attend the in-person orientation meeting to be held in July 2026.
- Deliver an in-person presentation of their research at Research in Progress (RIP) seminars in both the fall and spring.
- Attend all in-person RIP seminars in the fall and spring. Only one absence per semester is permitted, and any absence must be communicated to the OSR in advance.
- Participate in monthly longitudinal “Joint One-Year Undergraduate Research Experience @ YSM” (JOURNEYS) workshops from September 2026 through June 2027.
- Attend YSM Student Research Day on May 4, 2027, from noon to approximately 8:00 pm. Full participation includes attending all sessions, presenting a poster, and attending the celebratory dinner.
