One to One/Therapeutic Behavior Aide

About the role

The Sheppard Pratt School in Cumberland is a nonpublic special education day school focusing on students with emotional disabilities and autism. We provide educational, vocational, and daily living services to support students' academic success and personal growth.

Responsibilities

• Serving as a paraprofessional educator or 1:1 dedicated aide under the guidance of the teacher.
• Supporting IEP goals and objectives by documenting student progress and providing additional instruction and structure.
• Providing educational and adaptive behavior support.
• Implementing behavior intervention and treatment plans.
• Leading classroom activities as appropriate.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED.

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
• Knowledge of special education principles and practices.
• Experience with behavior management techniques.

Pay

The starting pay rate is $18.00/hr, with a range of $18.50/hr to $22.95/hr based on experience and qualifications.
