About the role
The Sheppard Pratt School in Cumberland is a nonpublic special education day school focusing on students with emotional disabilities and autism. We provide educational, vocational, and daily living services to support students' academic success and personal growth.
Responsibilities
- Serving as a paraprofessional educator or 1:1 dedicated aide under the guidance of the teacher.
- Supporting IEP goals and objectives by documenting student progress and providing additional instruction and structure.
- Providing educational and adaptive behavior support.
- Implementing behavior intervention and treatment plans.
- Leading classroom activities as appropriate.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED.
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Knowledge of special education principles and practices.
- Experience with behavior management techniques.

Pay
The starting pay rate is $18.00/hr, with a range of $18.50/hr to $22.95/hr based on experience and qualifications.
