One to One/Paraprofessional - Bancroft School 7a -3p

Full-time, in-person position based in Mt. Laurel, NJ. Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM.

About the Role

Provides assistance and support to the Teacher in planning and implementing classroom instruction to meet the educational needs of assigned students. Offers encouragement and support to students to contribute to the best possible educational experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Teacher in planning classroom curriculum and implementing plans to meet the physical, emotional, and educational needs of assigned students.
• Supports the Teacher in assessing students’ abilities and capabilities.
• Aids in developing and implementing individual-specific lesson plans and activities that address learning needs and IEP goals, encouraging skill development.
• Helps establish and maintain a classroom environment conducive to academic and social learning by guiding students toward socially appropriate behavior.
• Assists the Teacher in the proper use of classroom equipment and materials; recommends new supplies and curriculum materials.
• Under the Teacher’s direction, observes and tracks student behavior, gathers behavioral data, performs calculations, and creates graphic illustrations for review by Teachers and clinical staff to monitor proficiency and performance, supporting program modifications.
• Provides ongoing assistance to the Teacher in managing individual student behavior to maintain a safe and secure classroom environment; reports safety hazards or property damage.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years of direct support experience, preferably in an educational or classroom-based setting.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
• Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is strongly preferred.

Pay

Hourly rate: $20.07–$22.63.
