Job Summary

Captures the clinical, regulatory, business, and other research-related activities and documentation for observational studies. Adheres to industry standards and applicable regulations including FDA/OHRP guidance, GCP, and ICH. Manages the Myeloma Oncology REDCap database for Levine Cancer Institute, collecting and maintaining data for clinical and research purposes.

Essential Functions

  • Fulfills the job responsibilities of the Oncology Research Specialist, including assessing patient eligibility, collaborating with regulatory teams, and coordinating data collection and record keeping.
  • Coordinates accurate data collection and record keeping, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Coordinates and prepares for internal and external audits, and participates in sponsor study start-up and follow-up meetings.
  • Develops study calendars, collaborates on billing and financial activity, and assists in the development and review of Standard Operating Procedures and processes.
  • Provides educational and technical assistance to research staff, including orientation and mentoring.
  • Reviews patient charts and performs data entry into REDCap database, tracking patient enrollment and conducting periodic data review meetings.
  • Engages with investigators regularly to ensure data entry accuracy and discusses ongoing projects with statisticians and systems engineers.
  • Interacts with all stakeholders professionally and courteously, reminding investigators of deadlines and assisting with project management.
  • Maintains an active SharePoint and/or Microsoft Teams site for project management, and acts as a subject matter expert in the disease site.
  • Participates in continuous learning opportunities and maintains an active role in the field.

  • Walking, standing, reading, and writing/keyboarding.
  • Occasionally lifting and carrying up to 35 pounds.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
  • Must speak and write clearly in English.
