Oncology Nurse Practitioner or Oncology Physician Assistant

About the role

Primary responsibilities will be in the Oncology Department, with opportunities to grow in other specialized departments such as cardiac stress testing. This position offers variety in practice while primarily focusing on oncology.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with Oncologists
  • Provide Emergency Department and Inpatient consults for Oncology patients
  • Assist Infusion center nursing staff with evaluation of patients prior to treatment
  • Work up all oncology referrals
  • Assist Oncologist on clinic days to ensure all patient records are complete
  • Collaborate with outside providers referring patients to the Infusion Center
  • Guide Infusion center staff with Chemo protocols
  • Intervene with patient medication reactions

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program
  • Current, unrestricted APRN or PA license in the State of WI, or ability to obtain
  • Oncology experience required
  • Internal Medicine and Chronic Disease management background helpful
