Oncology Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Oncology Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team in Bel Air, Maryland. This role involves providing comprehensive care to cancer patients, collaborating with a multidisciplinary oncology team, and managing ongoing care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and manage ongoing care for oncology patients
- Prescribe and monitor chemotherapy and other cancer treatments in accordance with established protocols
- Provide symptom management and supportive care throughout the cancer treatment process
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care
- Document patient care activities in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Educate patients and families about diagnosis, treatment options, and side effect management
- Participate in tumor boards and care planning meetings
- Monitor and evaluate treatment responses and adjust care plans as needed
- Provide emotional support and resources to patients and families throughout their cancer journey
- Stay current with oncology research and treatment advances
Requirements
- Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) required
- Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license
- Active Oncology Nurse Practitioner Certification
- Current Maryland state licensure or eligibility to obtain
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of oncology nursing experience
- Demonstrated expertise in cancer treatment protocols and chemotherapy administration
- Strong knowledge of pain management and palliative care principles
- Proficiency in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Excellent clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
- Experience in symptom management and supportive care
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuing education

$51.30 - $74.83 per hour
