Oncology Nurse Navigator/FT (Florence, SC)
About the role
The Oncology Nurse Navigator coordinates a cancer patient’s care once it is diagnosed. They are responsible for coordinating with physician offices to provide timely appointments, assisting with access to educational, emotional, and financial resources, contributing input for the development and marketing of a specific cancer program, developing cancer conference agendas, and coordinating needed documentation. They also collaborate with the Cancer Services Director and Physician Liaison to continually improve services and provide RN coverage as needed in the Radiation Oncology Department.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with physician offices to provide timely appointments
- Aid in accessing educational, emotional, and financial resources
- Contribute to the development and marketing of a specific cancer program
- Develop cancer conference agendas and coordinate needed documentation
- Collaborate with the Cancer Services Director and Physician Liaison to improve services
- Provide RN coverage as needed in the Radiation Oncology Department
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing Program
- Minimum of three years’ experience as a registered nurse
- Minimum of two years’ experience with cancer patients preferred (Medical Oncology or related experience)
Licenses/Certificates
- Current RN license to work in the state of South Carolina
- Current CPR
