Oncology/Internal Med Clinical Dietitian II/ Dietitian I

About the role

The University of Iowa Healthcare department of Food & Nutrition seeks a Clinical Dietitian II or Dietitian I to assess, evaluate, and provide medical nutrition therapy for patients using the Nutrition Care Process. This role also involves teaching dietetic students, participating in multidisciplinary teams, and developing nutritional components of care. The position requires knowledge of growth and development principles appropriate to the patient's status.

Responsibilities

• Assess, evaluate, and provide medical nutrition therapy for adult and geriatric outpatients and inpatients using the Nutrition Care Process
• Teach Master of Clinical Nutrition students
• Participate in multidisciplinary teams and develop nutritional components of care
• Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the patient’s status according to age

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Food and Nutrition or Dietetics or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• 5-7 years of clinical nutrition experience for Clinical Dietitian II, 3-5 years for Clinical Dietitian I
• Certification by the Commission on Dietetic Registration is required
• Licensure by the State of Iowa is required

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Food and Nutrition or Dietetics or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Candidates registered prior to January 1, 2024, a Bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition or Dietetics is required for Clinical Dietitian I
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Certification by the Commission on Dietetic Registration is required
• Licensure by the State of Iowa is required
