Purpose Statement/Position Summary

The Clinical Dietitian II, under general supervision and as a registered dietitian, conducts comprehensive patient assessments, participates in the development of individualized plans of care, and implements and evaluates nutrition interventions for primarily moderately complex patients based on age-specific and developmental needs. The position functions within a multidisciplinary, evidence-based eating disorders treatment program specializing in the assessment and treatment of individuals with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, ARFID, and other specified feeding and eating disorders. Working as part of an interdisciplinary team consisting of Psychology, Adolescent Medicine, Psychiatry, Nursing, and Clinical Dietitians, the Clinical Dietitian provides comprehensive nutrition assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and ongoing monitoring of nutritional status, laboratory values, and treatment progress.

Responsibilities

  • Develops individualized meal plans
  • Facilitates nutrition rehabilitation
  • Provides nutrition counseling and education
  • Supports behavior change
  • Contributes to treatment planning to promote recovery and improve health outcomes
  • Collaborates closely with physicians, therapists, nursing staff, and other healthcare team members to deliver coordinated patient care
  • Guides and supports clinical nutrition personnel
  • Provides instruction to dietetic interns during clinical rotations
  • Adheres to applicable policies and procedures related to patient care, supplies, and equipment

Required: Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience

  • 1+ year full-time experience as a Registered Dietitian in a pediatric clinical setting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of pediatric nutrition assessment, medical nutrition therapy, nutrition counseling, and interdisciplinary care planning across a variety of clinical settings
  • Experience providing evidence-based nutrition care and developing individualized nutrition interventions for pediatric and adolescent patient populations
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with patients, families, physicians, nurses, behavioral health professionals, and other members of the healthcare team
  • Proven skills in interdisciplinary care coordination and participation in patient-centered treatment planning
  • Experience documenting patient assessments, interventions, progress, and outcomes in accordance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to educate patients and families and build collaborative relationships with healthcare providers

Required: Education/Licensure/Certification

  • Master’s Degree in nutrition-related field; or Bachelor’s Degree in nutrition-related field plus additional 2 years full time experience as a Registered Dietitian
  • Completion of AND/CDR accredited dietetic internship
  • Current CDR registration as a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist (RDN)
  • Current American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider CPR certification

Preferred

  • Board certifications: CSP, CSR, CSSD, CSPCC, CSO, RD-AP, CDCES, CNSC, IBCLC
