Texas Oncology is seeking an Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team in Webster, Texas. This position is Monday through Friday, with no weekends or holidays, and no call. The role can be at Level I, II, or Senior based on relevant experience.

About the role

This position supports medical oncology, hematology, radiation, surgery, and diagnostic imaging services. Texas Oncology is the largest community oncology provider in the country, treating half of all Texans diagnosed with cancer annually.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
  • Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material.
  • Administer therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician.
  • Administer medications/blood products correctly, ensuring pre-authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained.
  • Facilitate dose modifications by assessing patient status, reviewing labs, consulting protocols or treatment plans, and consulting physicians for dosage adjustments.
  • Perform venipunctures, access implanted ports, and maintain central line catheters.
  • Accurately document assigned patient care and treatments provided.
  • Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program, BSN preferred.
  • Licensure: RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
  • Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Experience: Entry-level 0-3 years, Level II 3-5 years, Level Senior 5+ years, including at least one year in oncology.
