About the role
Piper Companies is seeking an Oncology Project Manager to join a rapidly growing global clinical research organization for a remote permanent position based in the United States. The Oncology Project Manager will lead the operational execution of oncology clinical trials while serving as the primary contact for sponsors and ensuring studies are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Direct Phase I-III oncology clinical trials from study start-up through database lock and closeout activities.
- Act as the primary sponsor contact, providing strategic oversight, study updates, risk mitigation plans, and issue resolution.
- Manage cross-functional teams across Clinical Operations, Data Management, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, Biometrics, and Safety.
- Oversee study finances including forecasting, budget tracking, profitability targets, change orders, and resource planning.
- Support business development initiatives through feasibility assessments, proposal development, and participation in bid defense meetings.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of Project Management experience within a CRO environment.
- Experience managing oncology clinical trials across Phase I-III studies, including global or multi-regional programs.
- Proven experience with financial oversight, study budgeting, forecasting, and scope management.
- Prior involvement in bid defenses and collaboration with business development teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Nursing, Clinical Research, or a related scientific discipline.
Pay
Salary Range: $140,000-$170,000/year (USD)
