About the role

Join our Shields team today! Shields Health Solutions is redefining patient care through health-system integrated specialty pharmacy. We’re hiring an Ambulatory Oncology Clinical Pharmacy Specialist who will play a hands-on role in elevating patient care at a nationally recognized Academic Medical Center.

Responsibilities

  • Build meaningful relationships with patients and providers while delivering high-quality medication management.
  • Work on-site in clinic, collaborating directly with care teams and practicing under a Collaborative Practice Agreement (CPA) to conduct in-person and virtual patient assessments, order and monitor evidence-based treatment plans, optimize therapy, and resolve medication-related problems.
  • Provide comprehensive medication management, including reconciliation, dose optimization, adherence support, and drug-level assessments aligned with evidence-based standards.
  • Partner with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams to order individualized care plans under a CPA and promote seamless medication coordination.
  • Monitor therapy effectiveness and safety, identify optimization and intervene as appropriate.
  • Support quality-improvement and REMS initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations to operations by supporting teammates as needed with complex prior authorizations, improving workflows, educating patients, and maintaining ongoing clinical development.

Requirements

  • Hold a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
  • Be licensed pharmacist in Washington
  • Candidate must meet one of the following qualifications:
    • Completion of a PGY2 Oncology Residency
    • PGY1 Ambulatory Care Residency and at least 3 years of experience as a clinical oncology pharmacist
    • At least 3 years of experience as a clinical pharmacist in oncology, including 1 year practicing under a Collaborative Practice Agreement (CPA)
  • Strong communication, organization, and tech skills
  • Empathy, integrity, and a team-first mindset

Pay

An employee in this position who performs the job duties in Washington can expect a salary rate between $130,000 and $150,000 (Hourly Equivalent: Approximately $62.50 - $72.12 per hour, based on a 40-hour workweek.). The actual salary will depend on experience, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law.
