Oncology Account Manager, Tampa North
About the Role
As the Oncology Account Manager for the Tampa North territory, you will prepare and execute the launch of Avutometinib and Defactinib in low-grade serous ovarian cancer (LGSOC). Reporting to the Regional Sales Director, you will build exceptional customer relationships, demonstrate strategic agility, and collaborate across company functions to drive sales performance. This role requires highly developed clinical and business acumen to identify customer benefits, analyze data, and exceed annual sales goals while serving as the face of Verastem Oncology.
Responsibilities
- Master product clinical knowledge and articulate the value proposition of Avutometinib and Defactinib to customers.
- Meet business objectives in compliance with all guidelines and policies.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of assigned accounts, key customers, and their perception of the products.
- Utilize approved resources to educate stakeholders on product benefits, safety, and side effect management.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to support accounts throughout the patient journey.
- Understand complex account interdependencies to execute short- and long-term account plans with stakeholders.
- Create well-designed business plans aligned with brand strategic imperatives, allocating promotional resources efficiently and compliantly.
- Analyze business, products, technical issues, and the evolving market landscape.
- Influence beyond your geography by asking strategic questions to uncover customer needs across oncology accounts.
- Actively participate in product, skills, and corporate training to enhance personal and team capabilities.
- Build and foster strong relationships with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders, maintaining a patient-focused approach.
- Exhibit strong collaboration and teamwork with internal and external stakeholders.
- Compliantly execute demand generation efforts with prescribers.
- Identify and analyze trends in a complex buying environment, including drug distribution channels, Oncology GPOs, wholesalers, and specialty pharmacies.
- Provide staff support at exhibit booths and displays as needed.
- Adhere to company and compliance guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum of a BA/BS degree.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical sales.
- Minimum 5 years of Oncology and/or Rare Disease experience.
- GYN/Oncology experience preferred.
- Oral drug experience preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 50%, including overnight and weekend travel.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to comply with customer credentialing and safety requirements (e.g., vaccinations, trainings).
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of the Tampa North geography and customer base.
- Experience launching new products and/or indications.
- Established relationships within the geographical account base.
- Oncology experience in gynecologic oncology or ovarian cancer.
Pay
The base salary range for this position is $180,000–$215,000, with actual compensation based on job-related skills, experience, internal equity, relevant education or training, location, and market dynamics. You will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and a competitive benefits package.
