About the role

As an Onboarding Supervisor at Pilgrim’s, you will ensure the safety and successful integration of new hires from their first day through their first 60 days or until they become qualified. This role involves hands-on training, supervision, and fostering positive relationships with new hires, peers, and leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all safety policies and expectations are met by new hires.
  • Manage the overall experience of new hires from day 1 to 60 days or until qualification.
  • Administer, track, and evaluate new hire floor training, including hours of training per week, qualification status, attendance, turnover, and fostering relationships between new hires and supervisors.
  • Supervise and demonstrate hands-on training for new hires during their training period, making recommendations to management or HR regarding training needs, concerns, and continued employment.
  • Spend 90% of time on the production floor with new hires.
  • Develop and promote positive working relationships with new hires, peers, leaders, and clients.
  • Meet with supervisors, Human Resources, and coordinators to review production processes and product specifications.
  • Participate on HR and company committees.
  • Fulfill key performance indicators: 30 and 60 day retention, minimum of 2 Safety Observations per week, JSA completions for all new hires, and others as assigned.
  • Instill Pilgrim’s values and ensure no new hires are moved prematurely.
  • Complete all training documents and ensure trainees are qualified in a timely manner.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with new hires and supervisors.
  • Follow up with superintendents and training supervisors on any new hire issues.
  • Focus all attention and resources on new hires and their successful onboarding.
  • Observe and enforce all company personnel, quality, safety, and food safety policies.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating effectively with customers, clients, coworkers, and leadership teams.
  • Participate in process improvement and problem-solving using methodologies such as Six Sigma and support the E$P program.
  • Recognize and act on incidents and safety risks, consistently practicing and enforcing safe work habits.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED; Associate Degree or two years of college coursework in Communications, HR, or a similar field preferred but not required (experience in lieu of degree will be considered).
  • Bilingual is required.
  • Highly motivational and positive, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Previous training experience preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in all duties of the specific department.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Professional communication and demeanor.
  • Ability to present ideas, concepts, issues, concerns, and questions in a well-thought-out, positive, and professional manner.
  • Disciplined, confident, and self-starter.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Willing to work in a plant/industrial environment.
  • Strong attendance record and in good standing.
