On-Site Field Network Technician (Entry-Level)

About the role

We are seeking an Entry-Level Field Network Technician to join our service team in the Portland, OR area. This is a field position with a possible territory near you, as we service all of Portland and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of network connectivity, network security and Wi-Fi networks.
  • Good understanding of Windows environment and common operating systems.
  • Able to work with a variety of customers and vendors (some technical some non-technical).
  • Able to communicate with customers in order to gather more information.
  • Aggressive problem solver.
  • Able to travel locally to different clients.
  • Able to communicate through phone / email / written documentation.

Qualifications

  • Previous network field experience preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols and concepts (SMTP, FTP, SMB, Ports, TCP/IP).
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience providing support to users using Windows Desktop Operating Systems and other mainstream Microsoft applications.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cohesively with clients.
  • Valid Driver’s license and clean driving record. Must be 21 or older.

Bonus Skill Set

  • Good understanding of Mac OS environment.
  • CompTIA Network+ certified.
  • Previous experience working with IT professionals.
