Core Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for walk-up, phone, and ticketed support requests
- Serve peripherals and printers, including print queues and drivers, docking stations, monitors, and scanners
- Manage hardware lifecycle: new-hire workstation builds, equipment returns, and repairs or part replacement
- Administer the Microsoft 365 tenant, including user management, licensing, password resets, and OneDrive and SharePoint access
- Own first-level troubleshooting of published applications delivered through Parallels, escalating with complete diagnostic detail
- Maintain the building's network, including switches, wireless access points, and basic firewall changes
- Keep documentation current for IT hardware, deployed software packages, and network configuration
Requirements
- Required Skills & Knowledge:
- Networking: Assigning IP addresses, applying basic firewall changes, and using troubleshooting tools to distinguish a local problem from a network-wide one
- Hardware: Installing RAM, drives, fans, and power supplies; diagnosing failing hardware; comfortable opening a laptop or desktop to replace parts
- Software: Installing, uninstalling, updating, and repairing desktop applications; managing drivers and Windows updates; resolving common client-side issues with Microsoft 365 and line-of-business apps; recognizing when a problem is configuration or permissions rather than the application itself
- Identity and access: Managing user accounts in Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, including password resets, MFA enrollment and device changes, license assignment, and managing group or shared mailbox membership
- Troubleshooting: Defining the scope of a problem, identifying what changed, and testing and documenting one variable at a time
- Professionalism: Explaining technical concepts to non-technical users, staying patient under pressure, documenting work clearly, and using discretion with confidential access
- Preferred, Not Required:
- Industry standard certifications, such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, Microsoft AZ-900, etc.
- Hands-on experience deploying and configuring resources in Azure
- Experience with Parallels RAS, Citrix, or similar VDI environments
- Experience using a ticketing system on a team of 5+ people
