On Duty Supervisor (ODS) - Crittenden County

Pafford Medical Services is seeking a proven paramedic leader to oversee day-to-day shift operations, support field EMS providers, and respond to high-priority 9-1-1 calls in Crittenden County, Arkansas.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to emergency assignments and provide exceptional treatment and care.
  • Operate emergency vehicles safely and courteously, adhering to all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Perform supervisory, administrative, and managerial tasks to support daily operations in the assigned region.
  • Assist the operations manager with staffing and deployment, including shift swaps, callouts, and vacation requests.
  • Author investigative briefs for employee injuries, vehicle collisions, unusual occurrences, and disciplinary matters.
  • Coordinate the delivery of exceptional emergency medical services.
  • Maintain oversight of day-to-day operational functions, including vehicle fleet maintenance, clinical compliance, quality assurance, staff scheduling, payroll, logistics, and supply ordering.
  • Manage daily accountability and reconciliation of issued schedule II and IV medications.
  • Supervise on-duty crews and respond to requests for assistance as needed.
  • Provide on-scene assistance to ground ambulance personnel when requested.
  • Ensure daily maintenance and cleanliness of all facilities, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Oversee, guide, and mentor field operations staff in their duties.
  • Support and promote Pafford Medical Services’ culture throughout operations.
  • Investigate unusual occurrences and report findings to the appropriate department.
  • Administer disciplinary action as needed, in compliance with defined policies and procedures.
  • Maintain strict compliance with all Pafford policies, state, and federal regulations.
  • Perform related duties or tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with five (5) years of progressive work experience in emergency services, or an Associate’s degree with seven (7) years of experience in emergency services.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding operational goals and objectives.
  • Certification for ICS 100, 200, 800, and NIMS 700; ICS 300 and 400 preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience with Logis, Fleetio, NinthBrain Suites, and related programs preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain a positive attitude while providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and complete assignments within prescribed routines and standard practices.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to safely perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Work may require sitting, near vision use for reading and computer use, lifting, stooping, bending, stretching, walking, standing, pushing, pulling, reaching, and other physical exertion.
  • Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on the telephone.
  • Must possess visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and written materials.
