Pay

Starting hourly rate: $16.50 USD per hour.

About the role

Target is looking for On‑Demand Guest Advocates who help families discover the joy of everyday life. As an On‑Demand Team Member you create your own schedule by picking up shifts posted in the myTime mobile scheduling app. You must respond promptly to shift offers, work at least one shift every four weeks (minimum four hours), and work at least one shift within five months or your employment will be terminated. The role includes a short‑term structured training program and a Target Welcome orientation.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest experience.
• Greet guests warmly and assist them with their needs throughout the store.
• Scan and bag items efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with food‑safety standards.
• Promote Target Loyalty programs, fulfillment services, and the Target app features.
• Handle returns, following register prompts and partnering with leaders as needed.
• De‑escalate situations and recover the guest shopping experience while adhering to policies.
• Provide service for Order Pick‑Up, Drive‑Up, and Registry guests.
• Maintain a clean, clutter‑free work area and restock supplies during open hours.
• Support cash‑office processes, including cash register operations and cash handling.
• Comply with safety policies, report hazards, and work safely at all times.
• Adhere to federal, state, and local adult‑beverage laws when supporting guest services.
• Perform any other duties based on business needs.

Requirements

• Ability to lift or move merchandise up to 10 lb regularly and up to 44 lb occasionally without assistance.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and other peak shopping times.
• Active engagement in picking up and working scheduled shifts and responding to contact attempts.
• Capability to work in varying temperatures, humidity, and outdoor elements (e.g., Drive‑Up, carry‑out).
• Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a shift, which may vary in length.
• Compliance with attendance expectations: at least one shift every four weeks and at least one shift within five months.
