On-Campus Chemistry and Physics Adjunct Faculty-School of Natural Science and Mathematics

Position Summary

Indiana University East, a regional campus of Indiana University, seeks qualified part-time faculty members to teach on-campus, face-to-face courses in General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Algebra-based Physics to support our Life Science program with concentrations in General Biology, Biochemistry, Human Life Science, Criminalistics, and Medical Lab Science, as well as non-science majors. Additional responsibilities may include teaching-related assessment.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

• Teach lecture and/or laboratory courses in-person.
• Maintain accurate records through the Learning Management System, submit grades and other reports on time, and enforce school and campus academic policies.
• Be available to respond to student queries outside of class via email within 72 hours.
• Demonstrate the ability to develop a professional rapport with a variety of populations and perspectives within the university and community.

Basic Qualifications

• An earned master’s degree or higher with 18+ graduate credit hours in the discipline of the course, or a closely related discipline.
• A demonstrated desire to excel in teaching and support student success.

Salary is commensurate with experience.
