About the role
The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at Lipscomb University is responsible for the instruction of students majoring in biochemistry and chemistry, preparing students for health care fields and engineering, and adheres to the approval of the Committee on Professional Training of the American Chemical Society since 1971.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in chemistry and related fields.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of curricula.
- Advise and instruct students, managing and motivating them effectively.
- Evaluate student performance and provide feedback.
- Use technology to enhance teaching and learning processes.
- Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and the broader academic community.
Requirements
- A doctoral degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related discipline from a recognized, accredited university.
- A master's degree is required at a minimum.
- Experience as a graduate teaching assistant.
- Undergraduate teaching experience is beneficial.
Qualifications
Knowledge of principles, methods, and current developments in the academic discipline.
Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques appropriate to teaching the courses assigned.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to integrate technology into the teaching and learning process.
Ability to interact professionally with students, other educators, and educational institution representatives.
