On-Call Visitor Service Associate

About the role

Ganna Walska Lotusland is seeking an On-Call Visitor Service Associate to provide exceptional customer service to visitors, including managing admissions, monitoring garden activity, and supporting other garden departments.

Responsibilities

• Garden Kiosk:
  • Operate main gate for entry and exit of visitors
  • Communicate with Visitor Services, Reservations, and Garden Shop for special accommodations
  • Prepare for visitors by reviewing kiosk report and conducting radio checks
  • Organize and track visitor data, report to Associate Director of Administration
  • Coordinate and confirm reservation updates and tours
  • Maintain radio contact and communicate changes to visitor service
  • Respond to visitor needs in case of emergency or support in the garden
• Garden Monitor:
  • Walk grounds to ensure collections are safe, secure, and undisturbed
  • Offer guidance to visitors and provide orientation to gardens
  • Greet guests at the Visitor Center upon entry and exit
  • Support Volunteer Garden Guides by responding to calls for assistance
  • Communicate with Visitor Service team to ensure gardens are covered, policies are enforced, and issues are promptly reported

Requirements

• Excellent customer service skills
• Solid organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work as a team player and conduct oneself professionally
• Valid driver's license

Qualifications and Experience

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent
• Experience in customer service

Knowledge and Abilities

• Kind and effective communication both written and verbal
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Team player and collaborator
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Must have a valid driver’s license

Work Environment

The administrative offices are on a historic 2-story estate in a 37-acre garden. The work environment includes frequent work on the telephone and computer, standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, and bending with occasional lifting of light to moderate loads (25 lbs.). Occasional driving of company electric golf carts is also required.
