On Call Theater Technician
Job Description
Work on an on-call basis to assist the Theater Services Department in staging performances, lectures, and film screenings. Perform miscellaneous duties including stagehand, assisting with sets, lighting, sound, video, rigging, wardrobe, etc. Provide work direction to student workers as necessary and follow and enforce department standards for safety.
Education and Skills
- Technical theater experience providing the knowledge to perform listed duties
- Weekend and night work required
- Must be able to carry 50 lbs safely
- Must be able to set up and climb ladders to at least 16 ft
- Knowledge of carpentry, welding, rigging, electrical wiring and general duties needed to stage productions
- Able to interact well with a variety of people from all aspects of the college and community
- Attention to detail
- Well-organized, able to work under pressure, plan and accomplish goals
