Teachers generally work from mid-July (beginning with professional development before students arrive) through late May. Workdays are generally 7:10 AM - 3:45 PM, Monday through Friday. Mondays extend to 4:30 PM and include mandatory Professional Development time. Anticipated school hours and days vary annually based on changes to the school calendar. Position Title: On-Call Substitute Teacher Position Information Department: SubstitutesReports to: Coordinator, School Logistics and SubstitutesWork Schedule: As needed; assignments are typically scheduled 24–48 hours in advanceEmployment Type: Temporary/Part-Time, Non-Exempt Position Summary Jefferson RISE Charter School is seeking reliable and adaptable On-Call Substitute Teachers to provide classroom coverage for scheduled staff absences throughout the school year. On-Call Substitute Teachers are part of a substitute pool and are contacted as coverage needs arise, typically 24–48 hours before an assignment. Most assignments will be for a full school day, although half-day assignments may occasionally be available. Substitutes may accept or decline individual assignments based on their availability. When working an assignment, On-Call Substitute Teachers are responsible for maintaining a safe, structured classroom and ensuring instruction continues according to the absent teacher's plans and school expectations.
