On-Call Service/Maintenance

This position provides cleaning and maintenance support for MSU facilities, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Join a dynamic team using advanced methods, equipment, and standards to uphold the university’s mission.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and maintenance activities, including floor care, restroom sanitation, and trash removal.
• Follow verbal or written instructions and interpret chemical, biological, or radioactive warning signs.
• Remove snow using shovels or snow blowers as needed.
• Retain and apply training on custodial methods, equipment, and products.
• Collaborate with student employees and interact with the university community.
• Serve as a liaison with the Department of Public Safety.
• Maintain product inventory and make independent decisions to meet cleaning standards.
• Engage in high-performing, leading-edge practices with a focus on people, partnerships, and stewardship.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM (guaranteed 20 hours weekly).

Pay

$15.00 – $16.00 per hour.

Health & Physical Demands

• Exposure to human blood, bodily fluids, and materials covered under Universal Precautions.
• Lifting trash from barrels to dumpsters.
• Emptying recycling containers into curb carts.
• Stocking and putting away supplies.
