This is an on-call position. Provides food service, custodial, grounds maintenance, general labor or other main support on an on-call basis.
Unit Position Summary
The person filling this position will help with the processing of recyclable materials from campus departments as well as the public recycling drop off. When Michigan State University goes green, it goes to the MSU Surplus Store and Recycling Center. Our goal is to keep the MSU community as green as possible by keeping our materials out of landfills – and we do that in a lot of ways.

Desired Qualifications
- An interest in recycling and diverting material from the landfill
- Able to work in a warehouse-like setting where the temperature may fluctuate depending on the outdoor temperature
- Ability to go up and down stairs, stand, reach and occasionally lift 15-25lbs
- Organized, dependable, self reliant and hard-working
- Ability to communicate and work in a team atmosphere
- Ability to identify things that can be re-used and diverted to Surplus/Upcycle
- Ability to pass a university criminal background check
- A valid Michigan operator's license
