On-Call Senior Youth Worker 500 Hiring Bonus

About the role

Lutheran Social Service MN seeks a Senior Youth Worker (Facility Based) to provide support and services to youth experiencing homelessness or children and adolescents in care.

Responsibilities

• Provide a welcoming, supportive environment for youth in 24/7 shelters.
• Conduct intake assessments and support youth during their departure.
• Assist with providing basic needs and creating daily plans for each individual.
• Develop positive relationships to help youth identify needs and plan for stability.
• Respond to crises and emergent needs, including those involving SUIDS and head trauma prevention.
• Implement emergency policies and procedures as needed.

Requirements

• Effective working knowledge of positive youth development, harm reduction, and trauma-informed care.
• Training and competency in areas such as Blood Borne Pathogens, Child Safety Restraints, Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI), Mandated Reporting, CPR & FA, SUIDS and Prevention of Head Trauma, Runaway Prevention, Emergency policies and procedures, Gender-based needs, LGBTQ needs and resources.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Pass a DHS level background check.
• Pass a driver’s eligibility check.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field, with 1 year of experience working with youth or experience in lieu of degree.
• Experience with homeless, at-risk youth or children and youth who have been removed from their homes.

Pay

$500 Hiring Bonus

Schedule

On-call position for overnights and weekends.
