On-Call Roving Producer & Writer (1099 Contractor)

Key Responsibilities

• Help city teams produce smart and compelling editorial content for their podcast and newsletter, and social media accounts.
• Find compelling and timely pitches for the daily podcast, social, and newsletter content.
• Write the daily newsletter on assigned days with voice, humor, clarity, and relevance.
• Prepare for podcast conversations with the host and Executive Producer.
• Edit episodes using Descript.
• Produce ads to be included in podcast episodes.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience creating and/or editing editorial content.
• Experience working in a deadline-driven editorial environment.
• Excellent writing skills with a clear, engaging voice.
• Experience with Descript or the willingness to learn.
• Highly organized, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience making and editing videos for social is a plus.

Benefits

The contractor role will report to the Director of Production and the Senior Roving Producers at City Cast. The hourly rate range is $34-$45, based on experience and location. This is a contract (1099) position with flexible hours. Compensation will be based on an hourly rate. As a contractor, you will not be eligible for company benefits (health insurance, paid time off, etc). Work will be remote.
