Essential Responsibilities
- Agree to work when called upon.
- Holidays are a popular time to be available.
- Available to fill in for vacations, medical leaves, and other absences.
- Prepared to work spur of the moment due to unplanned absences.
- Displays a professional appearance and behavior.
- Welcome members to TowneBank, determine the nature of their business, and direct them to the appropriate person or department.
- Operate the department’s or branch’s main telephone switchboard and assist callers by transferring them to the appropriate party or taking messages from the caller.
- Become familiar with TowneBank’s locations, hours, telephone numbers, and individuals to answer routine questions easily.
- Type memos, correspondence, reports, and other documents as needed.
- Assist the branch or department team with a variety of day-to-day duties as requested.
- Assist with copy projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Physical Requirements
- Sitting 60% of the time.
- Walking to the teller line and to other co-workers several times daily to deliver mail and customers’ transactions.
- Escorting customers to other branch personnel.
- Assisting elderly and handicapped customers when entering and leaving the building.
- Operating the copy machine several times a day.
- Walking to check the FAX machine hourly; operating the FAX machine; adding paper and performing necessary maintenance to the machine.
- Maintain and organize supplies requiring lifting (up to 10 pounds), reaching, bending, and stooping.
- Prepare and monitor coffee and refreshments for customers.
Environmental Conditions
- Normal business environment.
- The Receptionist area is located near the main doors which can result in a change in air temperature throughout the day.
Minimum Required Skills And Competencies
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent telephone skills.
- Flexibility and dependability is a must.
Desired Skills And Competencies
- Computer experience (Word and Excel).
