The MissionBe the human touch in a high-tech world. TaskUs is looking for responsive, tech-savvy "Taskers" to support autonomous vehicle operations in Downtown Austin. When a self-driving car meets a challenge it can't solve—like a stray traffic cone or an unlatched door—you are the hero who gets it back on the road. This is the perfect role for freelancers, gig workers, seniors, or students living near the city center who want to earn a retainer just for being available, plus extra for every quick "save" they perform.

What You’ll Do

• Clear the Path: Remove cones or debris obstructing a vehicle.
• Secure the Vehicle: Close doors or hatches on stranded AVs.
• Support the Team: Provide on-site standby if a specialized driver is needed for a more complex recovery.

Perks & Compensation

• The Retainer: Earn $10–$50 USD per shift just for being on-call (Night shifts earn the highest rates!)
• The Intervention Bonus: Earn a flat $25 USD for every intervention you complete.
• Paid Training: Earn $60 USD for a 4 hour on-site training in Downtown Austin.
• Weekly Payouts: No waiting weeks for a check. We pay out via PayPal every week for all shifts and interventions completed.
• Total Flexibility: As an independent contractor, you keep your independence. Work with other platforms and fit these shifts into your existing lifestyle.

Who You Are

• Local Resident: You live in Downtown Austin or within ~3–4 miles (max 15-minute responsetime).
• Mobile & Ready: You have a reliable personal vehicle, a valid TX Driver’s License, and active auto insurance.
• Tech-Fluent: Comfortable using smartphone apps for dispatch and navigation.
• Safety-First: You can follow precise safety protocols and maintain a clean driving record (no violations in the last 2 years).
• Clear Communicator: Proficient in English with strong problem-solving skills.

Requirements

• Must pass a background check and drug screening.
• Willingness to share a DMV record for review.
• Valid U.S. work authorization.
• Availability for various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends.
