On-Call Driver

About the role

The On Call Driver Department at Payson Thrift Store reports to the Store General Manager. This part-time, hourly position involves transporting donated merchandise safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Conducts daily pre and post trip inspections of vehicle.
• Loads and unloads truck with or without helper.
• Maintains regular communications with the general manager.
• Completes paperwork daily, weekly, and monthly as required.
• Maintains a courteous and professional attitude towards donors, volunteers, and other staff members.
• Transfer merchandise to necessary locations when needed.
• Securely load merchandise for safe transportation and to prevent damage.
• Secure load to prevent unnecessary damage.
• Participate in and serve as a model for SVdP’s Culture of Philanthropy, and ensure SVdP volunteers feel welcomed and appreciated.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the store’s general manager.

Requirements

• One year or more as a local route driver.
• Valid Driver's license and clean driving record for at least 36 months.
• Must meet DOT physical requirements; position is subject to random drug screen.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
