On-Call Food Service Associate

About the role

Immanuel Communities is seeking a full-time Food Service Associate/Dietary Aide to work at Newport House, located at 6798 North 67th Plaza, Omaha, NE 68152. Newport House features 24 skilled nursing/rehabilitation suites and 72 long-term care suites. The position averages 28 hours per week or more, is on‑call, and primarily covers evening shifts (3:45 pm‑7:30 pm) and weekend meals (breakfast, lunch, or dinner), with additional weekday shifts possible. Candidates must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Assist in patient tray line assembly
• Load, operate, and clean the dishwasher
• Assist in the service of meals to cafeteria patrons
• Operate the cash register
• Maintain records, inventories, surveys, and other controls relevant to the cafeteria

Requirements

• Minimum age of 18 years
• Previous food service associate/dietary aide experience in a healthcare setting preferred
• Cash handling experience preferred for cafeteria duties

Pay

Up to $18.31 per hour (straight pay, no tips). Actual rate based on experience, certifications, skills, and education.

Schedule

On‑call position with primary evening shifts (3:45 pm‑7:30 pm) and weekend coverage (breakfast, lunch, or dinner). Additional weekday shifts may be available; averages 28 hours per week or more.
