About the role

Folkestone is seeking an On-call Fitness Instructor to join our team. Sites supported: Folkestone, Lake Minnetonka Shores, Beacon Hill, Shorewood Landing, and SummerWood of Plymouth. Reporting structure: The Fitness Instructor reports to the Fitness Director at the designated HUB and collaborates with Site Leaders and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct professional classes in balance, strengthening, flexibility, endurance and additional topics which may be of benefit to the participants of the Fitness Center.
  • In cooperation with the Fitness Director, develop and implement a curriculum and schedule of classes that will address the needs of the participants of the Fitness Center and provide the variety and frequency of classes to reach a wide spectrum of participants based upon regulations and established best practices.
  • Supervise open swim as scheduled to monitor the utilization of the pool, and ensure the safety of all participants (sites with aquatic facilities only).
  • Administer standardized assessments in a uniform manner.
  • Educate and communicate to residents and caregivers on interventions and programs.
  • Maintain a safe and clean fitness area and equipment.
  • Monitor vital signs: blood pressure, pulse, respiration and oxygen saturation when applicable during fitness activities.
  • Complete accurate, legible and timely documentation which supports the services provided.
  • Accurately capture and bill for services provided when applicable, according to company policies and procedures.
  • Manage schedule to meet the needs of the resident.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changes in the department/organization.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in a related field or equivalent experience in the fitness industry.
  • Current nationally recognized certification in CPR.
  • Current Personal Training Certification.
  • Current Group Fitness Certification.
  • Able and willing to travel to other PHS communities.
  • Demonstrated compatibility with PHS's mission and operating philosophies.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate with all customers.

Pay and Benefits

The estimated starting pay range for this role is $22.48 - $27.67 per hour. Full-time benefits-eligible employment begins at a minimum of 30 hours per week: Health, and dental, including applicable HSA & FSA; Employer Contribution to HSA for eligible Health Plans; Life insurance (AD&D); Retirement, with eligibility for an employer match; Holiday pay and extended sick leave.
