About the role

The Town of Swanzey is actively seeking on-call Firefighters and/or EMTs. This role offers a rewarding experience with potential for career growth, including training opportunities and skill development for a career in firefighting.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency calls
• Extinguish fires and safeguard lives and property
• Operate and maintain fire equipment and facilities
• Perform other crucial community safety tasks

Requirements

• Must live within Swanzey
• Hold a high school diploma or equivalent
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• Pass an NFPA 1582 wellness evaluation
• Complete State of New Hampshire Firefighter One certification within 12 months of hire

While experience and certification are preferred, the fire department is open to training new members.

Pay

$13.24–$32.14 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
