On Call Deputy Wiring Inspector

About the Role

Administrative, technical, and inspection work in enforcing provisions of the Massachusetts Electrical Code as it applies to electrical installations. Performs duties on an on-call basis to fill in for the Wire Inspector in their absence.

Requirements

• High school diploma
• More than five years of experience in the supervision of electrical systems installed for residential, commercial, and industrial construction; or any equivalent combination of education and experience
• Massachusetts Journeyman Electrician license
• Class D driver’s license

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of the Massachusetts Electrical Code
• Thorough knowledge of all types of electrical installations in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings
• Some knowledge of the principles of electrical engineering as it applies to electrical appliances and wiring installations
• Ability to maintain complete and accurate records
• Ability to prepare reports
• Some familiarity with computers, including word processing, spreadsheet, and database software
